I haven’t noticed a thread on this subject; the CP passenger 2-pack 2010 Vol. 2 Lionel catalog description lists a baggage car. However, the physical 2-pack contains a combo car. No complaint here; I just found it interesting. However, it does give rise to a couple of questions. Will a baggage car be released later? What do I use to transport the excess baggage (is there a CP express baggage box car)? Since the is no baggage car or sleeping car(s) in the set, could Lionel be planning to issue them later as add-ons? Also, I haven’t noted any catalog listing for a Dining (sound) car. Could this portend an ultimately loooong passenger train?

Based upon the name you provided and info in the Wikipedia writeup on the Canadian, it would appear that the train I took across Canada (from Vancouver to Montreal) in June 1973 was the CPR Canadian. How about that! But I did think that they had a baggage car, especially when they were off loading canoes sort of in the middle of nowhere (I believe that it was Algonquin Provincial Park). A train crew member said that they would drop canoeists off where ever they wanted and would pick them up if they flagged down the train. That was a lot of stuff to cram into the combo (baggage/dormitory car). Now if Lionel would only make the other cars and the dome-observation.
