I have a MTH Z-4000, Z-1000, and several CW-80s - however I'd like a "fan-less" system for quieter operation.
The MTH-1000 doesn't have a fan but will emit a buzzing "hum", also not powerful enough for my small but busy layout.
My CW-80s are older and have fans that always run.

No fan, quiet and affordable. Bought one new on sale in Dec, very happy with the GW-180 so far. Powers my entire 12x12 inner loop, yard and sidings. Thinking about getting another for the outer loop.

I see you're building your version of a Ken-Oscale layout I admire greatly!
It would fit well in my 13'x15' "mancave", but there wouldn't be room for other activities.

Probably the best bang for your buck transformer out there. I had one for years that powered my entire command layout 12x5 - 3 loops and sidings. I recently went to a Z4000 because I found a good deal on it and I wanted to separate my lower and upper loops.
