Just got my set today. The shipping box was marked ctn #147 and 28018PM. Took the set box out and all of th contents. Checked out all the rolling stock. Everything was perfect. Great detail on all of the pieces. Then checked out the engine and tender. All functions work, sound, smoke, swinging bell lights. Ran it back and forth about two feet to check out the operation.
On the tender the wires from the sensor and infrared drawbar needed to be loosened to prevent binding. On the engine the idler gear needed to be lubricated with a drop of oil. BTW: There is no mention of oiling the idle gear in the instructions. You need to move the wheels to see it and gain access.
Anyway, everything was perfect. The detail on th freight cars is great. Looks like I got a winner.
I packed everything away until I decide what I’m doing with my layout.
I would highly recommend checking out everything to make sure that there are no issues.
