You mean that you never received a "confirmation" of your DIRECT ORDER with Lionel, back in May?

And what was the response from Lionel when you called them?

I did receive a confirmation back in May 1 but if I try to change the card it says

That’s a great topic, I have not heard of the Lionel Gold Card, visa or mastercard. I used my usual visa card that they used for the April York show, that I have used many times with Lionel, for over 25 years.   So, I guess I better make a call, I sure do want the Brass/Hybrid Sante Fe #3222..Great thread....

Well Lionel just accepted my regular old Visa card for my parts sale purchase. I'd give them a call if you think there's a problem.

I don't know about Lionel, but unfortunately a lot of vendors are making deals with credit card company to have branded logo cards that they either give special benefits to cardmembers with the branded logo, like discounts or early notification, and for example Costco used to accept only Amex cards, these days it is visa only. Interesting, I went into the lionel store for regular stuff and it looks like they will accept any credit card there....maybe they are doing that with special orders these days?

Ok, let me say why I said it’s great, if there is a problem with our initial orders, its nice to know we need to call Lionel, unless they look at this thread and give us an answer....Now you know why I said, Great thread....Good Luck.

Why wouldn't you just call them instead of coming here? I mean I understand your concern but Lionel is the best place to ask.

What if someone on this site already has the answer?

What if this is the future of orders placed with Lionel?

What harm is there in having the information in an OGR thread?

Similar to saying "That's a stupid question"?

You don't have to read the thread. Several threads that I never read like:

Etc.  

Just pass over it if you aren't interested.

I just received one of the two orders I placed for the 50% off parts sale, I used a Visa from Costco and there was zero problems having it accepted.  I've never had any of the cards mentioned, and I've ordered lots of times from Lionel using some "other" credit card with no issues.

Those choices don't mean it's a Lionel card.  That's just a website label.  They mean any mastercard, visa, discover or Amex card.  Actually Lionel accepts Amex which a lot of merchants don't because of the exorbitant fees, so Lionel takes more  cards than a lot of merchants.

Whether I read it or not, no one here has the answer. A call to Lionel would make more sense to me. Just sayin'. 

Well anyways I hope you get an answer. 

I lost my lost credit card so I went on lionel web site and deleted the old credit card  and try to enter a new card but it wouldn't  accept it so I called lionel and they took my new card, everything is good now.

I'll try it tomorrow but the website should be corrected or explained 

Well, since Discover Card doesn’t allow any other financial institutions or businesses to use its branding, I think the answer is pretty obvious. There is no Lionel Discover card. There is only Discover. So you’re reading way too much into this.

As for the numbers not matching, that would require a conversation with Lionel.

Hello All,

My only comment is to beware of scams, such as, using what looks ike a legitimate web site to gather and use your credit card information for nefarious purposes. It is quite common around Christmas time.

I called Lionel to change the credit card number; no explanation as to why the card could not be entered on the website.

Was told that the Mikado is due late December.
