Hello Forum Family,

Would anyone happen to know the voltage needed to drive Lionel Legacy Conrail GP35 light bulbs?  I recently bought a shell, complete with factory installed lights to convert to 2 rail using a brass frame and P&D brass trucks.  I want to install a decoder to drive the motor and light bulbs but do not want to blow them up!  I am sure they take less than the 10-12 volts the decoder is putting out as they appear to be of the constant voltage variety.  Thanks!

I have that exact engine, it has LED's.  So, they'll be bare LED bulbs, and for a 12V output from the decoder, each LED will want about a 470 ohm resistor in series with the decoder output.

However, some of them are on PCB's with perhaps additional circuitry.  I believe the number boards are powered from track power with suitable dropping resistors on this PCB.
