How good is the little lines sets? Are they good quality? Are they like the wally world cheap sets that run sporadic? Are they worth the price? I have a 4 year old that loves my trains and connects cars on the tracks when I am not around so I really need to get him a quality set of some kind beyond the wooden Thomas sets

Go for Fisher-Price Geotrax instead...there's a huge base of used and new stuff out there and its all interchangeable (The LL track may look similar but its not compatible).

The Lionel Remote Control sets featuring Thomas, Percy, and James are excellent starter sets for a 4 year old.
I gave a "Little Lionel" set to my granddaughter for Christmas last year and
we added some extra track to it. It was no trouble at all for her to use and
she is still playing with it almost a year later. My granddaughter was three
last year.
