hello all, I am curious regarding the operations of the lionel LW transformer; I thought the indicator green light will light any time it is plugged in and the one I have will only light when track voltage is present. this is a potent transformer just wondering about the indicator green light. the TW transformer I have wil light any time it’s plugged in. any input n this is appreciated

The LW indicator light is designed to get brighter as the voltage increases, and only comes on with the track power.
that’s ok with me but thought it would light any time it’s plugged in like the TW not a major issue
Since it's wired into the wiper, if there's no voltage on the wiper, there's no light.

thanks for the print. this makes me think of breaking the bulb circuit where it is now and tapping it to the accessory output side as that side has voltage anytime the transformer is plugged in like the TW the green light is a nice reminder to un plug your stuff before you walk away but it’s not anything major
@rebuilder, it would be very difficult to rewire the existing internal bulb socket as the wiper and bulb socket are physically and electrically connected. The single lead from the base to the bulb goes to the common - moving it to an accessory post won't provide your desired behavior.
A much simpler and less invasive solution is to externally wire a ~14V indicator bulb to the A-C posts. This bulb will be illuminated whenever the transformer is plugged in (and the breaker hasn't tripped).
