Did anyone who attended York get a chance to see the Lionel Milwaukee Road Passenger cars and if so, what are your thoughts about the observation car and dome car? If not shown at York, did Lionel give any updates as to the status of this set is and can you share them with us.

Thanks

Wow!!!  Very disappointing -- but not altogether surprising -- to hear about this.  I've been saying all along that Lionel has likely stumbled into MAJOR supplier issues overseas regarding production of their aluminum passenger cars.  It's nice to see the new catalog includes a bunch of new 18" aluminum passenger sets, but the proof will be in the pudding when -- or if -- they actually deliver them.

The online shipping schedule (often known for its inaccuracies) still shows May 2013 for the 2010 cars, while Aug 2013 is the published date for the new cars catalog'd in 2013.  I guess it's all a pipe dream.

Well, at least I have the Milwaukee Road heavyweights -- with a StationSounds diner no less -- to run with the S-3.  Maybe if we're lucky... by the time Lionel finally delivers the aluminum cars, they'll be producing StationSounds diners again.

It was curious to note that the StationSounds diners, shown with the Neil Young passenger sets in the new catalog, say "2014 Preview" with them. For some reason, it appears there will be a production delay on these sound cars, even with these 15" versions.

Yes... But this is the first mention of StationSounds cars we've seen for quite some time by Lionel.  So hopefully we'll see a catalog (soon) that has a full page of StationSounds diners to fill out all the recent 18" sets that have been catalog'd without them.

Gotta start somewhere, I guess.
