I had a modern era Lionel 8753-100 motor with a lower armature bushing (closest to worm) that seemed sloppy. The Lionel service manual does not give a part number for the bushing, so I decided to try a Postwar Lionel #2321-103 bushing. The replacement bushing seems to be fine as far as the inside and outside diameters. The size of the flange seems fine too. But the 2321-103 bushing is too long.

Does anyone know a Lionel part number for the correct bushing, or it's specifications and a place to purchase them?

In an attempt to find a Postwar bushing that would fit, I looked at the various materials I have, and could only find the aforementioned 2321-103 bushing, which is for the 2321-100 motor assembly.

Bob Hannon's book lists four similar motors:

622-100 motor / 622-109 armature

2023-100 motor / 622-109 armature

2028-100 motor / 2028-109 armature

2321-100 motor /2321-109 armature

Looking at Mr. Hannon's measurements of the distance from the bottom of the armature head to the groove for the e-ring, I am guessing that the 2321-103 bushing can be used on the 2028-100 motor, but not on the 622-100 or 2023-100 motors.

Does anybody have information on what lower armature bearings would be used on those three motors (622-100, 2023-100, 2028-100)?

To get my motor back together, I shortened a 2321-103 bushing. While I'd much rather use a manufactured bearing, it seems to fit and work OK.
Here are the measurements, taken with an inexpensive Harbor Freight Digital Caliper. The inside diameter was determined to the best of my ability, using a set of numeric drills.

Inside diameter: fits a .1850 inch bit (#13).
Outside diameter: .3455 inch
Length (after shortening): .3405 inch.

The 2321-103 is a flanged bearing. By design the bore is .1875" and the OD is .343". The overall length is .352".  I do not have any information on tolerances.

Thank you for the specs on the 2321-103 bearing. The Train Tender has those in stock.

It will take a little time to get information on the other motors you listed.  I will try to work on it tonight.

That would be fantastic.

The 622-100 motor uses the 622-155 flanged bearing.  The bearing has an ID .1875", OD .343", and overall length of .302".  The 2023-100 motor is same motor as 622-100 except for some minor exterior detaile.  The 2028-100 motor uses the 2321-103 flanged bearing. It looks like in the motors you selected the 622-155 bearing is your only other option.
