I had a modern era Lionel 8753-100 motor with a lower armature bushing (closest to worm) that seemed sloppy. The Lionel service manual does not give a part number for the bushing, so I decided to try a Postwar Lionel #2321-103 bushing. The replacement bushing seems to be fine as far as the inside and outside diameters. The size of the flange seems fine too. But the 2321-103 bushing is too long.
Does anyone know a Lionel part number for the correct bushing, or it's specifications and a place to purchase them?
In an attempt to find a Postwar bushing that would fit, I looked at the various materials I have, and could only find the aforementioned 2321-103 bushing, which is for the 2321-100 motor assembly.
Bob Hannon's book lists four similar motors:
622-100 motor / 622-109 armature
2023-100 motor / 622-109 armature
2028-100 motor / 2028-109 armature
2321-100 motor /2321-109 armature
Looking at Mr. Hannon's measurements of the distance from the bottom of the armature head to the groove for the e-ring, I am guessing that the 2321-103 bushing can be used on the 2028-100 motor, but not on the 622-100 or 2023-100 motors.
Does anybody have information on what lower armature bearings would be used on those three motors (622-100, 2023-100, 2028-100)?
