Lionel NYC S-2 Electric

So I am interested in maybe getting one of these in the new catalog. But I do not know anything about the correct paint schemes or dates. I am guessing that the NYC&HR is the original scheme. Then there is #113 - All black NYC and #115 NYC with yellow step and hand rails. I like the yellow handrails and steps but I do not know the time frame for these or if they actually existed in the paint, I think I saw that 113 & 115 still exist and I am not sure if any of them have been restored. Not interested in the PC version and I assume the Lightning stripe version is fantasy but really do not know.

I am ordering the #113 as it will be in the paint scheme of what was seen in the 1940s. I may get the #115 as well and blacken the handrails which as far as I can figure would also make it representive of what was seen in the 1940s.

These engines were basically all black with white lettering. The lightning stripe scheme is good looking but is fantasy. I have the earlier Lionel model. It is a good running engine and an excellent switcher.

I know it's fantasy, but I'm going with the lightning stripe because I think it looks really cool.

Thanks guys. went back and looked at the catalog and Lionel actually explained the paint. I never read that area-Dumb Me! I think if I buy it will be the #113 as well.
