I have the 3472 milk car and wonder if the 3672 Bosco Milk Car and the 36621 Auto Reefer car will accept the same milk cans as the 3472 and will they operate on the same platform as the 3472? Are there any other milk cars that use the same milk cans that will operate on the Lionel/MTH milk platform?

No. Your 3472 is a smaller milk car and uses metal cans with a small magnet in the base.
The 3662 and 3672 are larger milk cars, and use a plastic can with a metal base.
The same platform can be used for all three cars.
The 3462 and 3482 are also the smaller style milk cars.
I've never found it difficult to keep the cans segregated.
