Is the lionel powermaster bridge necessary with the new legacy powermaster?

No. It’s for when you want to use the CAB-2 with the TMCC Powermaster.
It is a converter from Gigi Hz to Mega Hz.
Highly personal opinion. Do not buy the bridge. Just sell it/them on the bay or whatever and get the blue Legacy PowerMasters. They handle shorts much better, and they listen to the track signal instead of listening to 26 MHz.
Note that I am not recommending getting rid of TPC 300 or 400; they work differently. Still think the blue Legacy PowerMasters are the best. I bought mine when Nassau Hobby was having a super sale.

I agree w/ illinoiscentral. Legacy PowerMaster is the only way to go. Less equip and a much smoother operation!
