I am looking for two pieces to complete my restoration of a Lionel Prewar #98 Coal Tipple. I am looking for a #98A-2 base and a #98-4 apron specifically, but would also be interested in any basket cases that may have one or the other or both pieces. If there are any out there please contact me through this forum.

Hi,
I have a 98 coal house. It is part of my late husband's hobby train collection.
Thanks, Mariann

I was looking more for the base and apron or a damaged basket case that I could use for the parts. Yours seems to be in decent shape. But I will inquire as to how much you are asking for the coal house?
Hi,
i use ebay as a guide for pricing my late husband's collection. This house is currently on ebay for two prices 365 and 440. I don't know anything about trains. I will ask 275.00 and I will pay shipping.
Thanks, Mariann
Thanks Mariann but unfortunatly I could not afford it. I do have one that I am restoring and just need those two parts that I mentioned in my ad. Since you were so kind as to respond to my request I will tell you that the Lionel Prewar # 98 Coal House is valued at $160 -$318 in the 2014 Greenburg Price Guide from good to excellent condition. I would rate yours at a strong very good. $225 -$275 would be a fair asking price. If you have the original box you could easily add $100 more to the asking price but must mention that in the ad. Those two that you have seen on ebay have been there a long time....they are just asking too much. Good luck selling it! My loss!
Thanks so much for your help. I hope you get the parts you are looking for.
Thanks again, Mariann
