Actually, the ERR Mini Commander isn't a sound board at all, it's an accessory control board. If it's the Mini Commander II, it's a TMCC board for small motorized units.
How about you tell us your requirements, and we'll make a recommendation? You also need to specify if you're running command or conventional, and exactly what electronics your locomotive currently has, conventional, TMCC, DCS, what?

A way to tell the difference in the boards...I have one with the self contained antenna . But, it can have 2 different purposes depending how ordered?
Well, if he's looking for a sound board, neither of the varieties will help him!
ERR made the Sound Commander buts its been long out of stock, like over ten years. It is a nice small board for little engines like a Beep but it has limited sounds and not as much audio power as the full blown Railsounds boards.
The show up from time to time on this forum and the auction sites.

Lol, I know he is looking for a sound board. But, I have a good amount of err board in a box ...loose. There is one board that is different depending how it is programmed or the driver?
Care to part with any of your ERR boards?
Well, probably the path of least resistance is to pick up the ERR RailSounds Commander from 3rd Rail, that will give you the best sound quality. The other picture is the old RailSounds 2.5 board, the sound quality there will not be nearly the same as the newer ERR board.
Thanks ,to all.John I agree ERR sounds are great.went to the site taking reservations for Oct. found someone from Calif. on the bay, offers all ERR items .Possible?
thanks
