Lionel's 2015 catalog countdown is UP!

I had to put my glasses on....but I did see a red cow catcher. A tinplate catalog? a G gauge catalog?

Are they hinting at a re release of Santa Fe Warbonnet F3?  I hope so and then again, I hope not.  I need a break from the 2014 catalog.

I'm betting on more Classic tooling with can-motors and LionChief/+ electronics inside...

Gotta love the excitement that's building!!!  Nothing like toy trains to bring out the child in all of us.    Love, love, love the retro art-work.  It appears that the old-art posters are "hiding" the real catalog covers...  For example, the tinplate loco with the red cow-catcher appears to be hiding the 2015 RTR catalog.

I am looking forward to seeing the catalog(s), but I'm with J Daddy. I'm still licking my wounds from last years catalogs and still have a few pre-orders left to pay for when they arrive. I am really hoping no must have items in any of them. Unfortunately the Lionel command control crane previewed in the last catalog might just be a must have though.

Big news coming on passenger cars.

Just a reminder that the Notch 6 Lionel Catalog special will arrive at the same time as the catalogs on Monday morning. You'll hear from Mike Reagan and Matt Ashba as they breakdown everything new in the main catalog. We'll also try and throw some stuff in for the Flyer guys as well. As always we'll have details and behind the scenes items that you won't be able to find in the catalog. 

I would love to see Norfolk Southern office car special set.

 

Also is this new passenger car tooling still going to use aluminum cars or are they going to ABS?

"Taking tradition to a new era." Wonder what that means? It could mean a whole lotta things! I'm excited;my bank account is not.

Well I know we've already seen half of it

Sigh, of course I'm excited, but many of our bank accounts are still smarting from the incredible slew of deliveries at the end of 2014.  If Lionel has another great lineup on the way, it's trouble.  Good trouble, but still trouble.

This is When my New Year Begins, a Lionel Catalog, or 2 or 3 Or 4? Yes, I am still waiting on orders to arrive from The Signature 2014 Wish Book, and the Later 2014 Catalog, but a fellow Can WISH, Because, the Wallet is getting very Thin now.  It's a joy to see the New Releases, and Yes, I will pick a few, it's an ADDICTION, You know? Let's all enjoy this new year together in the World Of Model Trains, It's a Fun Hobby. Happy Railroading.

Every 24 hours more of the old posters should be peeled back on the catalog covers.

Well 2015 would mark the 50th anniversary of the postwar year of 1965 and 2015 marks 115 years Lionel has been making trains. Wonder if there is any postwar items in the new catalog and I hope the big news on the passenger cars that production will be moved here to the good old USA.

So, lets hear it!

So, the new catalogs are being introduced on Groundhog's day. Does that mean we will wake up every morning, it will be February 2nd, and rush to the computer to see what's new?

Fred, when you tell someone you will keep information to yourself when it is shared with you in confidence, you should keep your promise. But it is safe to say there is big news coming from Lionel with respect to passenger cars. Only three days left to find out. Thanks to Charlie Nassau, we all got a hint of something brewing.

Maybe a LionChief Plus 773? That would be pretty cool!

Not to mention all the black helicopters encircling the train room until Monday.

Or a 773 affordable Legacy would be good also.

I am almost wishing the catalog is delayed.....operative word is "almost" since my credit card is just about cooling off from my December purchases!  Awwww, who am I kidding, bring on those passenger cars!

The Warbonnet F units are an essential part of the Lionel persona, and will be produced periodically forever. If not in this catalog, a Legacy version will certainly be coming before too much longer, I'd think.

I guess I would have to agree, too many F3 Warbonnets in this world. It better have some super high tech features to make it stand out
