Does anyone know the era (time frame) that covers the time where the model of the railroad crane that Lionel has produced?

I am pretty sure that the Lionel set that I got for Christmas in the early '50's had the same model crane. (My dad could have bought it separate from the set.) So it would seem they were in operation during the early 1950's, at least.

That is an ambiguous question, so are you referring to the 182/282/282R Cranes, or the Crane Cars, of the 2460, 2560, 3360 Burro Crane, 6460, 6560 versions.

The 182 Crane dates 1946-1948

The 282 Crane dates 1954

The 282R Crane date 1956

The Crane Cars were 2460 (1946-1950); 2560 (1946-1947); 3360 Burro Crane (1956-1957); 6460 (1952); & 6560 (1955-abt 1960)

The 2560 was a carry over from the prewar era but with postwar style trucks and couplers. The 182 Crane accessory was the prewar style 165 crane accessory except updated with a postwar crane body and boom similar to the 2460 crane car. The 182 accessory's cab had a separate smoke stack whereas the 2460 crane car cab did not. Both the car and the crane accesory were initially made in 1946 and were available for several years.
