Howdy Train Folk! It's Eli from Flint Rock Valley.
Here we have the unveiling of Neil Young's Greendale Train. It's Lionel's Box Set # 30002, never opened. I've had this set for many years & finally decided to open it up & see what it's all about. Due to size I split it up into 3 separate clips. In the last one, there's a special run for ALL Y'all Rivet Counters- Enjoy!
Love the sound of this horn, can't wait to hear it in the train room. Train Room you ask? Why yes, I have an All Postwar Lionel Layout it's not much in size at only an 8'x8', but it's jam packed of Working Railroad Goodness from the Postwar era. I'm not much of a modern train collector, but every now & then they find their way home. You can check out what I've done & worked on, & maybe even follow along w/ me for future updates. Come stop by & say Hi, tell me what you think... I hope Y'all enjoy the pics & vids (from here, & on the link)! Mmmmm, nothing like the smell of new trains!

Here's the official description of this set from Lionel: "Take a ride to Greendale and discover a place where the citizenry believe in personal rights, protection of the environment, and sanctuary from corporate greed. A place that has, as its motto says, "everything you're looking for." Based on the popular "musical novel" by renowned recording artist and Lionel part-owner, Neil Young, the Greendale train set evokes some of the most powerful messages from the story. From the Millennium News Network (MNN) television car and BIG OIL tank car, to the Devil animated gondola and presidential election campaign observation car, the set tells the story of modern day issues that besiege all of us on a daily basis. Limited to only 500 sets and including two special gifts – a DVD movie version of Greendale and an Honorary Citizen of Greendale certificate signed by Neil himself – the Greendale train set is sure to become a prized part of any collection."
Happy Railroading to ALL Y'all!!
