Called Lionel today about the Portland Terminal S2 it has the wrong number on the side of the engine and the wrong side frames.I asked if this is the way it will be made,and I was told it probably will be. No early order from me. Buxton Station

That’s the way to do it. If it doesn’t meet your standards don’t buy it. You’ve saved yourself a lot of grief.

A while ago, one of my last new Lionel purchases, I bought a Southern Pacific Alco S2. The Lionel catalog depicted it with the orange tiger stripes. When it arrived the stripes were yellow, totally incorrect.
