Hello everyone, I’m primarily a MTH power motive guy. All my MTH engines that were have runs on 42” radius. I recently bought a Lionel SD40-2 Dummy engine not realizing that the minimum radius they run is 54” radius. I noticed that the difference between the MTH SD40-2 and the Lionel SD40-2 is that the Lionel trucks have the flange in the center wheel of the trucks while MTH has the middle wheel with no flange. What would be the best way to replaced/ removed the center wheel of the Lionel trucks of the SD40-2 to be able to accommodate my 42” radius’s on my layout ?
