I just purchases a N &S Heritage SD70ACE. It runs fine through 031 curves but derails on the 031 switches. The switches are are Ross. Any suggestions?

Well here's an update: While I was trying to fugure out what was wrong, I ran it through an 042 turnout and an 072 and it still derails. It just won't go through any switch. It's a little better in reverse. Does anyone have an idea what I can check?
I would just check that the trucks swing freely and there's no wires or other things binding on their ability to turn? You may have to remove the shell if they don't swing freely.
If it's brand new you maybe should be talking to the dealer first? I'm surprised someone hasn't chimed in by now.
I'll take a look. I hate to take it back if it's something simple (it's an hour and a half drive for me).

make sure the coupler cut bars are not interfering with the truck when it swivels. I just replaced traction tires on mine and the bar was making the train derail on O-99.
