I have been watching some of the great videos you guys and gals have been posting demonstrating the new Legacy sounds.  Once thing I have noticed is I don't seem to be able to hear the second set of sounds coming from the articulated locomotives.  Am I missing something??  Are they there and I am just not able to distinguish them from one another?  I have several MTH articulated locomotives and I can clearly hear the different driver sets.  Is there a setting on Legacy that needs to be activated in order to get the articulated sound set?

Thanks,

Alan

I have to legacy B&O EM1.  It does have the two out of phase chuffing sounds.  I have a video on my youtube channel (link below).

I believe for compound articulateds, most (all?) could be run as simple articulated (primary steam to both sets of cylinders) and this would be done at low speeds, which would give the two sets of chuffing sounds, but when in compound mode, there would only be one series of chuffing sounds.

So, for my 3rd rail y6b which doesn't  have the two sets of sounds, I tell myself its prototypical (but I like to two sets of sounds better, even if it isn't prototypical!

Jeff....very nice video!  I listened carefully and while there seems to be a little out of phase chuffing starting out...it still doesn't seem right.  For sure the depth and authority of the sound is the best but I think the prototype would exhibit more distinction between the sets of drivers...

Thanks,

Alan
