I have a sp daylight gs-2, 18007. Id like to snap on a boiler front from a gs-4. Possibly from a 11127 or 21274 , OR ?. Would this, or something else fit? I know its not "right" , but im not a purist and like the look. Any one done this or know if its feasable ? Thanks in advance.

What about the cab? The GS-2 has an open cab, while the GS-4 has an enclosed "all weather" cab.
not concerned about the cab, just would like to swap the boiler fronts.
If they are both the "traditional" sized locos, it should work fine. You could even put on a bullet nose from a N&W "J" if you wanted to.
The boiler fronts from the scale sized "standard O" locos will probably not fit.

When contemplating such a swap, a little studying will save a lot of $$$. In the world of Toy Trains, not all GS-2's and GS-4's were created equal.
The 6-11127 scale Lionel GS-4 and 6-21274 K-Line GS-4 have the shape you'd like, but they won't fit because of different design parameters.
The equivalent GS-4 for your 6-18007 GS-2 is the 6-8307 from 1983. The parts you'd require for the swap are the 8307-24 Boiler Front (or 600-8307-024) and 8307-35 Lens (600-8307-035).
I hope this helps!
