Lionel starter set steamer

I picked up one of the racing set on the cheap. It has the scout type engine with the plastic smoke unit. I have some spare err boards around. I was going to upgrade the engine for my niece....who at 3 1/2 half years old is already running legacy....on her own. Geez!

Is there any fan driven smoke unit that will fit in? is there a standard unit that could be modified or installed>>>
