I have this set; un-opened and sealed.

Includes engine, tender, and 3 cars.

Thinking about opening and running it.

a little bird told me that to really complete the set; i need to get 2 limited

edition cars that Lionel put out seperately.

is this correct? anyone have any info on this?

i appreciate it.

6-35211 is the 2 pack.

There was a Docksider and caboose offered about a year before the passenger set.  (many of the other freight cars have come out later, and there was at least one accessory, a Girder bridge)

I counted 14 Lionel Strasburg items in my database (items with a catalog number for sale, there was the set, the passenger 2 pack, and one freight 2 pack in there).

There is a scale Strasburg Plymouth #1 that was offered by K-line In the early 2000's. This was thie first Strasburg engine from back in the 50's. It is still on the roster and on site.  It would definitly fit into this group.

A bit more expensive  and a further stretch is the 44 tonner from MTH it is in the Pennsy markings that it had for years while working for Strasburg. Recently this engine was sold by the RR to another short line. Also Strasburg has a EMD SW engine that is ex-NYC and marked in NYC font as Strasburg. It is the main engine used for switching frieght. MTH also offered this engine in the last few years.
