Question - I recently was able to purchase the 6-83545 and 6-83549 Lionel Vision Line Scale Steel Reefer Sound Cars.

I program the 1st car as 10, then take off the track and program the second car as 10. Both are now programed as 10.

Questions

1. When you add the cars to a Train - build a Train - will both be added when you build the train if I select 10?

3. Will that affect the overall sounds and performance? Or Will the two cars just make more / louder sounds as the train moves?

4. Will programing them as 10 affect the Trainlink option? Meaning pull down the menu and access the features - will both respond at the same time with address 10?

I know that when you add multiple sound cars, the recommendation is to slide the switch to the other side to recuce / turn off the freight sounds on the 2nd car, 3rd car, etc.

Thanks in advance.

Kevin

Programming two sound cars with the same ID is not a problem.

To answer your questions:

1.  If both cars are on the same track, both will add when you add #10 to the train.

2. ???

3.  Both cars will function normally for bumps and squeals BUT both will also "talk" when you press the dialogue button.  To prevent this set the Min/Max switch to Min on one of the cars.

4. Yes, but as I said above, you can prevent both from talking at the same time with the Min/Max switch.

I have a couple of VL cars and set each as a separate number so I can run them in separate trains.  This gives me more flexibility.  It is eany to add more than one car to a train.
