I got 4 pieces 072 fastrack cc switches, and several pieces of track. I'm not in the market for any cars or engines.

Are the deals really that good?
Lionel has had the Polar Express legacy steamer on blow-out for over a year now. And given what dealers have been listing them for, the $407 sounds about right for Lionel to sell direct to consumers AND still make some profit.
Trust me guys... we would all be a very depressed group in need of therapy if we knew what it REALLY cost to make these jewels.

nothing.
Unless someone pays us for traveling accommodations and everything else and come home with way too much stuff.
Rolling stock is selling $10.00 unboxed-$20.00 for boxed and shop worn....pretty darn good in my book.

I'm so thankful we'll never know that!

Hey Scott, did they have lots of Lionel-branded Christmas items like last year? How about decorative items like the pub tables, bar stools, lamps, lanterns, wall items, etc... ?

I picked up 3 RTR sets under $100 each. The new Pullman Madison 3-pack & 2-pack under $300 for both plus some $10 $ 20 cars. Saw lots of engines at good prices. I had a great time.

Did anyone here snag the gray VL Hudson that Scott pictured for just $800? Would love to have had that one and do some 'weathering' on it!
Wow, those are great deals!

I'd be very surprised if the VL Hudson didn't sell! About fell off the couch when I saw that photo!
I'm wondering what warrantee the VL Hudson for $800 had. With the prices Scott posted in his photos, the warehouse sale sounds like the Williams blowout of brass models back in the '90s that p----d off their loyal dealers.

The fact that Lionel restricts this sale to one weekend annually, and folks need to physically visit the warehouse to make a purchase... keeps the dealer network in line with it. Also, some of these deals could be "factory re-furb" items too... others might be brand new old stock that's been sitting in the warehouse for a couple of years.
If Lionel were making these kinds of prices available to consumers more regularly, dealers might have a bone to pick. But as it stands, warehouse sales are part of life in the big city, and dealers just roll with it. Heck some may even drive to Concord to snag a few pieces for the store too!!!

Bought some of the unboxed rolling stock, including some Polar Express Streamliner cars.
On another note, I found the Lionel personnel to be extremely hospitable and helpful Friday evening. Not they have haven't been in the past but more so during this sale.
Fast Track and rolling stock for my son. I didn't get anything
