Lionel ZW model R

A couple of suggestions:

• Consider buying a copy of Greenberg's Repair and Operating Manual for Lionel Trains as it contains parts diagrams and information on repairing virtually everything from Lionel's Post-War period (including the ZW).
• With the information from this book, you can then identify individual parts by their Lionel part number. Using that, you can then visit any one of the many great businesses that sell spare parts.  My two favorites have been Just Trains and Brasseur Electric Trains.

Thanks JTrains, i need to get a copy of that book. I have the Kline book but it doesn't have the info that i need. I understand that this is a common problem with the ZW.

Olsens has the same service information that the Greenburg book has on their website:

I've looked through hard cover copies of the Lionel Service Manual reprint by Aurotec, Kline and Greenberg. It's my impression that they are pretty much the same.
