Out of the blue my older  ZW.. for some reason what I think  "might" be the common post problem.. what happens is anywhere from 0 to 12 volts   if you grab the handle  and wiggle it  all is fine ..But if you go anywhere from 13 to 20 volts and do the same the power flickers on and off .

There are new carbon rollers in it..

I'll open it after the holidays but  I'm using the inside thumb knob and all is fine...

Anyone ever have anything like this and maybe found it was something else .. thanks daniel

You can try to switch the common to another common post and see what happens.

Besides the common post being loose and having a bad connection, the A,B,C,D posts can also loosen up and cause a bad connection. The originals are riveted into place and after 60 + years they loosed up and / or fall off causing a bad connection.

There are repair posts made just for this reason. Part # T-159.
