Athearn trucks can be bought for $30-35 at train shows and at non-auction Internet sites. They are die cast and listed as 1:50 scale. Van body and flat bed body are 2 1/8" wide for a 96" prototype body. What do you think would be a reasonable retail price for a 1:48 scale model if manufactured by an upscale plastic molding company in the USA? What if manufactured in brass in the orient?
