Contact Jill Cisco at miniaturelamps@verizon.net She sells both items you are seeking, along with many other repair parts.
Pick 12 or 18 volts. 18 volts for command or tinplate. 12 volt for conventional running. Vendors at york will have them.
See you there.
Just a thought Alex... I've switched to LED bulbs. (The link below will take you
to the ebay site.) He has direct replacement bulbs for all the old Lionel
cars and accessories.. It might save you some work on getting sockets.
Of course the LED's last forever....

IMHO....Town and Country Hobbies would be your best bet. I run all prewar, however, everything has been converted to LEDs. Less power draw= less heat generated. Since some of my engines draw 20V+, you can do the math..LOL!!
I've bought stuff at Bulbtown, very inexpensive for a lot of common bulbs.
Alex.....if you can wait.......
In 3 weeks, Orange Hall, back (west) wall, between Willams and Charles Ro.

I thank all of you guys for all the great info, I'm in need of some now so I will check out the sites some of you guys gave me, and then I will purchase the rest at york.
Thanks very much again to all of you, Alex
Alex,
I have ordered LED screw in and bayonet style bulbs, as well as sockets, from here...
The link is to their train bulbs. As you scroll, you will eventually come to the LED replacements. Sockets are at the bottom of that page.
They shipped very quick.
I've had ood luck with T&C LED's. LED's also run cooler!

Both of the outfits mentioned above should be at York.
In addition, Ralph the Bulb guy should be there, and often has bulb dye available for those who like to color their own bulbs.
All three are in the Orange Hall.

Keith, great link for bulbs. I have done so many searches on google for bulbs I can't count them. I never came across this site. They have a few bulbs I have needed for awhile. I will be ordering today! I have been making my own LED replacements which work well but these will clean things up quite a bit. Do they ever run sales? Just wondering because if so I would stock up a bit. Nice thing on LED ' it's " once and done" no burning out like the incandescent bulbs. I have learned quite a bit from your posts Keith, thanks and keep them coming. Much appreciated.
Would mini Christmas tree lights work for you? I use them all the time and they work great for passenger car lights and building lights, hanging them from the roof.
You can get 12v replacement bulbs to replace the 2 to 3.5 v bulbs that come with most sets that you can buy for the sockets. Cut them up and use the pig tails of each socket to hook up. If you must have 18v, hook three 6v bulbs in series.
Christmas is coming and wallymart, CVS etc will be stocking them soon. If you wait till after Christmas they will be on sale for 1/2 price then if they are still there. You will not beat the price in either case. I buy some at regular price to insure my needs then stock up at 1/2 price.

Alex,
If they are for structures, you might find either of these useful. You can probably find them at any hobby shop though, and sometimes there are cheaper versions available.
From the Walthers catalogue.
LED version.
Incandescent bulb version.

You are welcome and thanks for the comments. I don't know if they ever run sales.
I found them while looking for LED replacement bulbs for tinplate searchlight cars. When I ordered, I stocked up on several so I could also replace the bulbs in some Lionel accessories.
For anyone hunting just regular bulbs your local "Batteries plus" has a huge selection.
Especially for 12-16 volts.
