Hello! I recently bought this diesel off EBay but I am having a rough time finding any information on it. All I know is that its number is 6512 and Williams brand and that it’s obviously made for passenger cars. Any help is much appreciated!
Oh okay! Thanks guys. By chance do any of you know the minimum curve? I have it on O-36 and it seems okay but it makes a pretty loud squeak when turning and on straights it squeaks but barely audible.
Williams claimed 031 for their passenger sets but the wider the better. You will get squeaks on any curve when you do not lubricate it. You should lubricate your wheels when they start squeaking.
The gears and wheels are all lubed up, I was just worried it might be the motor. But if the claim O31 then excellent! I’ll go re-lube everything again and maybe that’ll help. Thanks!
Well I took it all apart and grease it up with some grease I found from my old Penn. flyer set (swear I had some red n tacky somewhere) but still made a bad squeak. Low and behold it was the darn rollers! I oiled the roller spring and silence.
