Loose driver tires on a central loco works H 10

No.  I have had such issues with the earlier cast iron H-10 drivers.

I think I would try super glue.  A slower-drying variant would give you time to wipe off the excess.  I have three plastic-drivered H-10s and one I1 with five such drivers.  Never a problem, and I even re-geared one.

I have both the boiler shell and tender kits for the CLW H 10...any chance one of you has a spare frame for one?  I suppose one could be made pretty easily as well.

Are you looking for a bare frame, or the complete mechanism, drivers, rods, valve gear, etc?

I guess more would be better, I'll have to double check, but I don't think any of the rods, valve gear or cylinders came with the two boxes I have.  I'll check tonight and verify.  This particular CLW engine would be offspring from the 30's-40's Saginaw engines that I think you have several of, right?

Yes, here is what I have, sections 3&4 with destructions data 1958.  This one seems to have a wood bottom tender.  I'm not sure how early or late this one is either.  I'd sure like to pick up enough parts to try and build it though.

Dennis...it's definitely worth the effort to try gathering up the parts to build one. I recently completed mine after several years of on and off effort. Terrific locomotive.

Looks like you need the complete mechanism kit.

Age is related to several things - early boilers might have been sand cast.  Later were lost wax.  Early frame & cylinders were sand cast; later the frame was built up, cylinders two piece lost wax.  Drivers - cast iron, then plastic.  Tenders - main body sand cast, then later etched sheet.

Good models of a pleasant prototype.

Good opinion, I agree, plus they have a nice bit of charm.  I'll see if I can make it down to the Indy O scale show next month and maybe I will get lucky.

Instead of super glue, purchase a small bottle of Loctite 609 Retaining Compound and apply it around the tire and press it back on the driver center.  The Loctite will give you some time to get the tire back on straight before setting up and in 24 hours it will be on forever.  I use this product a lot and it has many uses in the shop.  McMaster Carr on line has it in stock.  I am not a big fan of the "super glues".
