Mine has been away for awhile, and I think it out to be greased before it is run.

I remember, from over a year ago, discussion of what to open up to lubricate its gears, but I can't find it (if I saved it) and it might be from the old-style forum that wasn't archived.

Can anyone fill me in?

Thanks,  Joe

I am with Don, I have owned BEEPs since they were first available and I have not lubed the innards yet.  However, it does make sense to lube the axles and check on the couplers once in a while.

The first part of Don's response is also important. Where is Walter with the definitive word on lubing BEEPs anyway?

C'mon Walter, are we steering him right, or have I just lucked out operating BEEPs this way all these years

Hello Joe,

1. turn BEEP upside down, remove eight screws.
2. turn upright, remove shell.
3. remove PC board, one screw
4. loosen the three screws at the bottom where the electrical connections are. These screws hold the underside covering the gears in place. Take care to note what goes where.
5. you can now lubricate the gears from below.

Take care not to loose any screws!!

Best regards

Goran:  Thank you for the info on lubing BEEP gears.  The new one I just bought is very "grindy" sounding.  When I asked on the Forum, Walter suggested lubing the gears, but didn't indicate how to do it.  From what you describe, I cannot believe the procedure is SO difficult.  I guess I must try it though as the noise from this thing is very bothersome.
