I still need to add a few finishing touches but thought I'd share. This is Downtown Deco's Luci's Tattoo/Patterson Hardware kit with a customized name.

It's wonderful, Norm. Great detail. Love the 'ghost' steps.
Another great building for the layout.
I'm glad to see that you still have the "touch" Norm.

Hey thanks guys!

Great job, Norm!

Another nice job I have been wondering what you were up to. Any more progress on the new layout ??
Just fantatic Norm. You can't beat these Downtown Deco plaster structures as far as detail. Things that just can't be done in plastic.
Do you use their sidewalks as well ? Was wondering if the mate up height wise with the base provided for their structures.
Makes me want to get some more ink. And a beer......

Sounds like a perfect Sunday morning!
Here's a quick shot of the other sides. I've been using iThings to take pix lately so sorry about the lame-o quality. When I get some more scenery and detailing in place I will try to take some better shots.
Jim, I've been making OK progress when I can get the time. Right now I am building up a bunch of buildings so I can get this street section figured out. I got a little more ballasting done and things are running. I even bought a new engine (a Legacy PRR H16-44) and hooked up Legacy temporarily to help test things out.
Dave C, yes, these kits rule. I picked up the Stone Mill Models Pipe Shop (also his Sudbury Mill) this week and sent funds to Tom Yorke to try out his Fix-It Shop kit. I think these will all look cool together.
I don't us the DD sidewalks but I'm playing around with his rough brick/cobblestone streets. I set all my buildings on 1/4" masonite so they match up with the sidewalks I make from the same material. I typically do my concrete streets out of 1/8" masonite (Menard's has the best 1/8" masonite these days) so the 1/4" sidewalk height works out. The DD cobblestones are about 1/4" though so I will have to get creative to get everything set right.

Did you see his Chinese Take-Out version of this? I think I am going to snag it this week. I am going kit crazy.
Hi Norm,
The buildings are looking great! I follow the forum a lot, but only contribute now and then and I look forward to your layout progress, for motivation and inspiration. I'm sure I'm not the only one.
I know your busy but would love to see some overall photos of the track plan and around the layout progress. From what I can see, its really coming along.
Keep inspiring!
Thanks,
Joe
Can't wait to you get all those buildings in place with sidewalks and streets. Your scenes always look so realistic.
Beautiful, Norm, my gosh you're good!!!
How's the new layout coming along? Is LuLu's part of your getting a palette of structures ready to start crafting whole vistas and neighborhoods?
FrankM
Joe, thanks man, I was hoping to start taking some overview shots of this area once I had the streets laid out and a few more buildings ready to go. I am wanting this to start coming together in the next couple weeks so I can move onto other projects.
Thanks again LOS!
Frank, yes, I am trying to build up a bunch of buildings to arrange for the best look. Once I figure that out, I can lay the streets out. I was also thinking of raising this section an inch or so but haven't decided yet.
Good job CBG!
Norm, there are guys here on the forum, you included, that take modeling to the higher level. It's inspiring to have you guys share the process. Thanks for sharing.
WOW. Looks friggin' real!! you're setting the bar too high! Sheesh.
(now if we could just pry out that middle rail.....)
We should all head over and get our OGR tattoos.
You make some of the most realistic looking buildings and scenes that I have ever.....well seen.
Love it Norm. Then again, I love all your scratch built structures. Well done.
Beautiful!!
Alan
