If I want to use real twigs as lumber loads what should I spray/paint them with to retard rotting or drying out? Thanks. Rick

This is a really good question given today’s cost of lumber. A friend of mine in construction asked me the other day: how you can find a millionaire?
He said follow a pickup full of plywood.

How about clear decking water repellent?
They might dry which is a good thing. Wood usually rots when it's wet.
I could see maybe spraying them with a clear coat for cleaner handling.
Your average home has nothing applied to the wood framing.
Urethane spar varnish.

You are probably best off doing nothing. Assuming you have any wood furniture, structural lumber or anything else wood in your home, you can use that was a gauge to its lifespan.
