Not being able to find banner flags in O scale it was time to make my own. The image below
"banner long" will produce a line of flags 9 inches long. Resize the image to make larger or smaller flags.
Making the flags:
Print the image
Fold and crease the paper on the line between <|> the flags
Unfold the paper and apply stick glue (I use Avery Glue Stic in the purple tube)
Here you have 2 choices either insert a small wire or thread in the crease or just glue together
Take scissors and cut the paper along the bottom points of the flags
Using an Xacto knife with a new blade cut a line between each flag
(if using wire or thread cut along it. No wire cut about 1/16 inch down from fold.
Now holding the top fold area with your finger nail cut from the fold cut line down to the points.
Each flag has a black outline cut the line.
The 2 images below are the original size with no wire the second is a slightly enlarged flag with
Magnet wire placed inside the fold.
The image is at the bottom labeled "Banner Long"
The images are extreme close-ups to show the cuts the white areas do not show much at distance.
I use Microsoft Word to resize and print the image.
