I picked up a Marx 2960 Whistling train station at an antique store. It has great graphics and no rust! It has no control for the whistle and I don’t know if it works. Does anyone know when it was produced and what type of remote it needs and where I can find it?

Where can I find this type of switch? Thanks.
It's just a push button, any kind will do.
Something like a doorbell or a toggle switch? Also there are only two terminals on the station. How is everything wired to operate? Thanks.

Exactly like a doorbell: two wires from the power supply (accessory AC voltage) to the accessory, with one wire interrupted by a momentary contact SPST switch. Push the button, the whistle blows; let it go, the whistle stops. Easy peasy . . .

Thanks Mitch,
I had exactly that problem with the lights dimming when the whistle blew.

That's an indicator that you need a more powerful transformer. Those old open wound motors suck prodigious amounts of juice.
