Is the four rail track both O and Standard gauge?
I think it probably is. It is available commercially by Sunset Valley ( not for three rail O ) but for two rail, more like gauntlet track.
The background vegetation and distant views make these little thrashing drivers look
closer to real. Stupid question: Pertaining to that track: did anybody make windup
standard gauge?
One example..out of several
Very cool!
When I noticed some extra views on my video from this forum I became forum member to answer this question:
The track was originally set up for Gauge 1 (45 mm), scale 1:32, to run live steam and 2-rail electric trains. Later I added two rails so I could run 0 gauge 2-rail and 3-rail electric and also clockwork trains. I used Tenmille (a British company) track parts and bullhead rail. This is quit high and allows for all types of wheels, tinplate or scale. I cannot run (and have no) Standard gauge trains. Here you can see a Gauge 1 clockwork train in my garden:

Fred, those are some wonderful trains, a beautiful railroad and great videos! What a combination. Welcome to the forum!
Colorado Hirailer, I don't recall ever having seen commercially manufactured standard gauge clockwork, just one homemade project locomotive. If there were some standard gauge clockworks made, I would love to see pictures & video, too.
Of course, as you can see in the video Electroliner posted, there were Gauge 1 Clockworks - Marklin and Ives come to mind. Anytime I see an Ives #40, I just close my eyes and grit my teeth, trying to remind myself that I only collect O gauge clockworks... Those locomotives are gorgeous...

A terrific video of a rarity in action..priceless. Another provocation to relay the garden track to dual gauge..I would love to see the UA clockwork steamer and consist I have running outdoors. Look ma, no wires!

Wow!
What is the little passenger train in the first minute or so? It's a beauty.
Forty Rod,
the locomotive is a Marx Mercury.
Happy Rails!

That is such a neat outdoor garden layout!
Here are some photos taken of Marx trains running on the G&O garden railroad on July 5, 2014. These trains are track powered.
very nice!

Thanks, Dave. That's just the passenger rig I'm looking for.
Fred van der Lubbe's Driehuis Junction outdoor garden train in the Netherlands is one of my all time favorites. All of his videos are on youtube under presenter sncf231e. All scales, all makes are often seen running in his garden. Great stuff.
Great stuff.
Jim,
Thank you for your recommendation!
