Does anyone have, or remember, these signs? They are made out of brass and some came with lamp posts too. I bought a couple at York at the April 1999 Meet. I don't think I've seen them since. They are great for placing between tracks at a passenger station. I wonder if they are still being made?

Brian...… have not ever seen the brass sign frames, but are an excellent idea! I have many old matchbooks saved for use as signs in a town on the layout. Great idea!!

Very nice idea. I have a perfect place for a few of those.
Brian, I never saw them before...and they are neat. You're idea is a good one...and I'd get some as well if they were available.
I've been looking for Elfin building backgrounds...some of the neater stuff just doesn't get made any longer it seems.
I think the original poster was asking where he might find some more.

I am pretty sure we all understand that. And the additional interest from those of us who never have seen these before is understandable.
Brian I have these and like you bought them at York from the fellow in the purple hall twenty years ago.Beautiful brass frames and they were and are a history in match covers he had hundreds of different ones and was a lesson in old time advertising on match covers alas I haven't seen him in years at York.
These are cool.
On the last picture, at the very bottom, it has the manufacturers name, address, and phone number.
Don, yes it was in the Purple Hall. I was sorting through my train boxes and came across the one pictured. I think I have a couple more, at least one with the lamp posts. If I remember correctly, there were different styles of fencing between the signs, like a spiked railing I think. He had a bunch of them he was selling, so I was wondering if anyone here had bought any.
Craig, the info on that description list is from 20 years ago when I bought it so I don't know if he's still around. And not many cottage industry folks had websites back then.
I have one of these on the wall in my train room. We had tables across from Bill in the purple hall back when they had chicken cages piled up. I gave Bill a binder filled with matchbook covers that I had from when I tried my hand at selling matchbook advertising as a part time job. I guess he stopped selling at about the same time we gave up the tables because I could never find him after that. I never had that cover pictured above with his information on it.
