There seems to be some interest in Standard Gauge McKeen cars, so here are a couple of pictures of one running today at the Gadsden Pacific Toy Train Museum in Tucson, AZ.

A story of two standard gauge Windsplitters:

There were interurban electrically powered ones as well..On the Winona RR
P&W Brill Bullets
Wish these could be made in a production setting. O or SG. I would be first in line.
Mention Mckeen Motor car and who should appear?
Come on Lionel, MTH, or whoever, I want one in ANY scale tinplate or otherwise and
make the trailer too!

We NEED someone to offer a Standard Gauge McKeen car and trailer. Some of us (including me) were too stupid to buy them for $495 from Richart years ago!

Ahhhrghhh! Here they go again, yanking my chain! Waving McKeens under my nose
and bragging, "Nyahh, nyahh, nyahh...look what we got, and you can't have! Nyahh,
nyahh, nyahh!!" (I don't want a tinplate one..I want a three rail O scale model one)
Woodstock and Sycamore RR in Northern Illinois..
I would love one. Count me in for any color offered.

Electroliner: I would guess you have the published pamphlet on the Woodstock and Sycamore?
With as much interest as there is in the U.P., I would have thought McKeen's connection with Omaha and the U.P. would have signed up enough....sometimes it is like people aren't knowledgabe about what is historical in the protoype but only interested in what toy train mfrs. have made before. I have paper on all kinds of rail critters I'd buy: Mack railbuses, Edward's gas electrics, and a long list that small layouts would, like the prototype Woodstock and Sycamore, run logically because of the small investment. But....while most have been done in the past in O and/or HO
two rail, the three rail cupboard is bare....

As an aside, I got your e-mail address today. The K4 parts are en route. I am a big fan of the McKeen Car and I think the manufacturers missed out on what seems to be a popular choice in any scale. They seem to have no focus except to rerun mainline models..short lines do not apply.
I think the best candidate and most overlooked for this sort of thing ( maybe a point to point On3 or G) where critters predominated is Wauconda, Palatine and Lake Zurich RR, that was a short line that ran a variety of gas powered buses as well as a hand me down and ancient 0-6-0 named Old Maude as well as 4-4-0's that (like a tourist line) had to run the engine in reverse behind an equally ancient open vestibuled coach half the time..They inherited the old White gas rail coach from the W&S and by the time it was all over, only the carcass was left. That's it pictured on the WP&LZ below..
Check out the trailer in the above photo..luxurious. They only served a diary, a lumber yard and a pottery factory..I've always wanted to model it. Kind of a steam powered Toonerville Trolley.

Hi Guys
I'm new to 0 scale... signed up and enjoying the topics. Sadly one of my good friends passed away some months back and in his train collection we found what appears to be a McKeen '0' scale model. I don't know much about it and on behalf of his widow would like to research the model and look at disposal options.
It appears to be 2-rail, and of brass construction. Could be a production model 1950-60's or maybe scratch built? Not sure if US or Australian origin. I'll see if I can upload some images.
Cheers guys
David
