After the car has come around and the carhop appeared, the sound makes a hammering sound. The only way to stop it is to cut the power. Turn the power back on and it completes it's mission. Help!

Probably the limit switch is bad, a wire came off or it is out of adjustment. Just remove the 50 screws from the base to inspect (use a good screwdriver. The heads strip easily).

After you get the 50 screws out (Jon’s not kidding) check the rack and pinion alignment for that carhop. The noise you are hearing is the pinion jumping over the rack teeth. Make sure the teeth have not been damaged. This might have been caused by something jamming the carhop or, as Jon said, a defective limit switch not stopping the mechanism.
The noise and vibration are in the area where the speaker is .
