God Bless all our troops who are down range and still in the fight as well as all of our brave veterans. All gave some and some gave all as their last full measure of devotion and sacrifice.

I have attached the grave site marker for one of the greatest vets to ever bless us with his exemplary life of service. My dearly departed Brother in Arms, MARTY FITZHENRY!!

On past Memorial Days, several G&O crew members attend a memorial service in nearby cemetery.  A few crew members play in the band.  After the ceremony, the crew goes to the G&O for lunch and to run trains.  The cemetery ceremony and the train running are both cancelled this year.  My father was a WWII veteran and I am a Vietnam veteran.  I can never forget what our veterans, living and dead, have done for our great nation.  Here are some G&O photos from past Memorial Days.  NH Joe

Honoring all the women and men who served and remembering all who continue to serve.   This park, Freedom Park, on my layout is dedicated to my father, Charles Whitehead, who landed on the shores of Omaha Beach, Normandy France on June 6, 1944.   The park contains a stone I picked up off Omaha Beach when I visited back in 2000.  Additionally an original piece of the Berlin Wall also sits in this park.  IMG_1527IMG_1442
