Well Captain Paladin, . . . I have a way of preventing it.
Don't ever buy a $1,200 locomotive. :-)

@palallin posted:Nonsense: it is a fact of human existence. Everything is flawed in one way or another: there is no perfect creation of Man.
Right back at you. The only nonsense is your post, which totally missed the mark. This topic has nothing to do with perfection, nor did my post. It had to do with manufacturing errors. You obviously never worked in a factory, for a manufacturing company, in marketing, in quality control or in customer service. It would be totally unacceptable for any company or any of its employees to simply dismiss manufacturing errors with an attitude that gee, you can't expect perfection. No reputable company would do or allow that. Indeed, any company that was foolish enough to take or tolerate such a cavalier position would be out of business very quickly.
The ironic thing about your post is that you actually didn't disagree with my point that the vast majority of manufacturing errors can be avoided (or corrected before delivery) through appropriate quality control measures, and many are obvious. And if you do disagree with my point, you are clearly wrong. The Menards error in the name of the hospital is a classic example of an obvious error that should have been detected and corrected before shipping the hospital to customers.
Moreover, it is elementary under contract law that customers have the right to expect to receive, and actually receive, a new product from a manufacturer that satisfies the manufacturer's representations about the product. If that is not the case, the customer has the legal right to return the product for a new one or a refund.

@A. Wells posted:Since we have Menards under the microscope, I'd like for everyone to know I got 4 free lighted Ford trucks from Mernards with my order. Unfortunately, they are all the same color...black. I guess I can't complain, they are free but it would have been nice to have an array of colors (I thought I was getting yellow and blue.)

Anthony,
As Henry Ford said.. "You can have your trucks in any color you want as long as it is black."
The first time I ordered a building from Menard's I did not receive my free car and my requests for another one when unanswered. So at least you got something. You could make a truck dealership.

I could do that. I have the Atlas Wheeler's Auto Dealers kit.

I believe they ran out of stock on the blue and yellow trucks on that promotion so they probably sent you the black ones instead, because I saw posted under the picture temporary unavailable, choose another plug and play truck for your free truck for each item with order of any Train item $19.99 price or higher.
