Hi everyone, I just got my boxcar in the mail today. It is good looking and it was in one piece unlike those of you who had truck issues. It measured 10 1/4 X 2 1/2 X 3 3/8 which is close enough to be scale. It had Tuscan and yellow sides, black ends and a light gray roof. The door slides had bare metal pins (no big deal), there was an add-on fish belly on the frame and the metal trucks had cast springs on them. The two trucks were very loose making the car body very topsy-turvy. The magnetic knuckle opener on one truck was out of whack. It needed help from me to open up. I probably can fix that. Once I take the shell off I can see what I can do for these loose areas. All in all, for 19.95 you can's go wrong.

Are the trucks held on by screws or bolts?

Looked at the ad - says it's diecast but the description says these have resin bodies. I think that's pretty heavy material and perhaps contributes to the wobbling. Curious to know who makes these cars.

Trainroomgary,
When your boxcars arrive snap a couple pics and post them here, I'm interested in the MILW car.
The two that I have on order are to be delivered at our local Menards Wed. No shipping charges if delivered to your local Menards for pick-up.

That air brake part and center still at the bottom of the cars looks williams........
falconservice-Andrew, the wheels are held on by "C" clip, ring, clamp. I'm not sure if I am calling it by its right name but for the life of me I can't think of the correct name. There is a shaft on the truck that goes through the frame. The shaft has a head on it. Next there is a washer placed over the shaft. Lastly, this "C" ring is put on the shaft just under the head of the shaft. By adding another washer, the wobbliness would be taken care of. I hope you understand what I am trying to say!
The body is about 3/32 thick. It seems like plastic to me but I don't know what a resin cast would feel or look like.
The Trucks are held to the Metal Frame by a rivet
I think this is the word MilwRdPaul is looking for. Rivet • See 2 still photos below.

I am still having issues with embedding videos, this is a YT Video, showing the boxcar being taken apart. Below is the YT Link to video, maybe the Web Master. Mr. Melvin can fix this issue. Sorry Rich.

Photo of Truck, you can see the Rivet, black on black in the center of the truck, under the coupler frame.

Enjoy your new purchases.

I'm 110% sure it's manufactured by the same factory that manufactures Bachmann/Williams cars. Same body, trucks, chassis. The metal door guides with rivet retainers is exactly like current WbB cars. If I buy a Menards car I bet the mold marks inside the body are a perfect match too.
Hi AMC Dave
Yes the bottom looks like Williams, even before Bachman took over. The air brake is the give away, I have a lot of Williams rolling stock with this air brake.
