I like everything about this car.  It looks right and it looks like quality.  Whether it is based on actual prototype or not, it looks like it was or could have been.  The markings on the jeeps and the flatcar itself are realistic.  They all look right.  Plus the car has Bettendorf trucks which, in addition to being right for the era, convey a feeling of quality that I just don't get from the roller-bearing style trucks associated with a number of "economy lines" of rolling stock.

I haven't received mine yet, but from the photos it looks like a high quality scale model.

And talk about value!  As I previously posted on a different thread, with the four-pack and free flat car with van, the cost per car - including shipping and handling - is just a bit over $16.  Amazing!

This is an out-of-the-park home run.  Very well done, Menards!  Congratulations and thanks!

Just one question Bob, does the gas can come off? When I was in the Marines there were no RED insite! Makes a big target!

I never saw a red gas can on any of the jeeps I drove in the Army so it's a little OD paint for me.  Also the shovel was all OD and the seats were a blend of gray & OD.    But hey, I'm tickled to death that Menards chose the M151 Jeep for the flats.  Can't wait to get my three.

Ok,

- The blocking for the tires is missing.

- The windshield are correctly shown in the down position but would also be protected by burlap material.

- Mo gas cans are never red and would not be shipped with the jeep.

- OVE (On Board Vehicle Equipment) such as shovels, picks and ax would not be shipped attached to the jeep. This equipment would walk off when the train was parked in a siding.

- Each jeep would have had it's own crate containing the OVE, and other components  that would have been installed by the troops at the receiving destination.

But after all the jeeps are on a three rail flat car, so none of this really matters!

Thanks,

Richard

Would some one kindly furnish length and width of deck and length and width of the Jeep?  I'd like to know before ordering enough units for a kit bash car shown in previous post.  Thank you, John in Lansing, ILL
