Has anyone bought the new nuclear power plant building from Menards ? I am curious what forum members opinions are of this unique building.

I don't know that they have had time to ship and arrive at homes yet, lol. I know there wasn't one in the stores yet as of two days ago. The shelves were already very barren. Not half of what was left the year before. The one here had 6 buildings. Red Owl, Pepsi, & Mustang Service were lit & on display, one boxed of each left. The unlit Red Barn, Residential Home, & Burnt Engine House were there 1 each. (plus ho versions of various)
I purchased the other day, and email says is being processed and shipped. Perhaps arriving end of the week.
KEN-OSCALE, After you receive your new nuclear power plant, I'm sure everyone on this forum would appreciate a review from you. Therefore, please take a moment and give us your opinion of this new accessory. Thank you.
I too would love to see a review/opinion of this accessory once someone receives one.
My assumption is that since it is February, these probably won't be showing up at any Menards stores until next Christmas season. My local Menards did get the barn that came out back in November I think, but it never got the service station that came out after Christmas. I always love seeing these buildings in the store and buying them "off the shelf" even though I can easily buy online and have it shipped to the store.
I follow menards and I never saw an announcement !!!
Mark did have a mystery/hint new release thread going, and they did announce it.
Does it come with a scale Homer Simpson?
There was a "hint" thread going but one of our forum members broke the news on another post before Mark could reveal it on his upcoming from Menard's post.
.... I hope that it doesn't spoil future fun
My email confirmation shows that on Feb 3rd, the nuclear plant was shipped to my home. So perhaps the end of the week, sometimes things arrive earlier. I will post when it comes in. -Ken

Sorry.😉
Mine came yesterday but it's still in the box. Looks like a weekend project. As usual, I'll post pictures. Bob
I cant get the video to play on their site. Anyone got the video?
Not liken the red. is it supposed to be Chernobyl?
Looks like something the Universal Studios prop department built for a 1970s tv show....
Booming Ernie Anderson voiceover:
“Lee Majors stars in “Menardsville Meltdown!” on tonight’s episode of the ‘Six Million Dollar Man’.... up next here on ABC!”
Must be one of those Toshiba or Hitachi mini-reactors..... https://www.nextbigfuture.com/...-energy-geh-and.html
Not sure if Homer is 1:48, but he's available, complete with suit.....
I've seen key chains of Homer, Mr Burns, and whats his name with the glasses; they might pass, at least the size mutation wouldn't be monstrous

I see a cosmetic fascia made to inspire your imagination in case you want there to be a meltdown
If the Simpsons wont fit, there is always G scales figures and H.G. Wells 'Food of the Gods' to turn to.
..♪♪ and up thru the ground come a bubblin' crude ♪♪
You can use live figures!

I think this building could be added to, change it's appearance through some good old scratch building or kit bashing. I was at Hobby Lobby today and seen some styrofoam half spheres, I thought .. Hey, the roof to the reactor building!
I didn't think I'd be interested in buying this new release, but, after reading some of the cool and funny ideas, I'm thinking I just might. Do some adding on in the form of scratch building and making it bigger with a reactor building and a few more cooling towers .... Three Mile Island'ish looking! Find a way to have the towers emit stream vapor ... have Homer around there somewhere, too!

It has gotta look good all lit up under the tree next Christmas!!

Train Nut,
The video looks to be working on my end, but I did uploaded it to YouTube just in case.

Still not up my alley, but definitely in the whimsy dept., like that Lionel reactor with the giant glowing ball. Maybe open up a window in one wall and glue these pics inside?
Dunno about the red light though; maybe this a cover for a much, much older business....

Im ordering one!!
Mine arrived today. Short video. Kinda cool...
I decide I like it. Came with one of the stickers drooping - easy fix. Will be something to entertain the visitors!
With the room lights low, it plays a rotating disco scene on the ceiling!

I received my Menards nuclear power station and power supply today. It arrived safely with no shipping damage. It is packed securely in its plastic case and side reinforcements. There was handle with care labels on the shipping box. It is nicely decorated, typically as other Menards buildings. The reactor building has a revolving light which is quite "unique" to say the least. The left side of the reactor building has nicely detailed transformers which also light up. Both the transformer and cooling tower have nice fences with various signs. A very nice building overall. My only critique is I wish the cooling tower was a bit taller. A nice touch would be to add a smoke unit to the cooling tower. A definite attention getter for any layout.
A 3 Mile Island christmas star shower, what a clever idea, does it play Christmas songs also. better yet, the rhyme Pop goes the Weasel can be changed to Pop goes the containment field! I think I may have to get one.
That revolving light makes it a real attention getter! Much better than the Lionel version with the flashing LEDs. Hmmm... I wonder if I can retrofit my Lionel reactor?

Ken's video's still- shot is better than the ad's
Can it be cropped and swapped Mark?
Could that revolving light mean the China Syndrome ?
Plant was rented one evening for a Disco Dance.... I feel a fever coming on Saturday night.... Oh..did I really say that?
