I'd like to add the York Hotel to my layout but its foot print is too big.  Specifically, the building is too deep.  The rear of the building steps in.  I'm wondering  if I could cut off the rear section of the building at the step thereby reducing the building depth.  Then, cut off the rear of the removed section and insert this original rear in the void left by the removed section.   Any ideas on how to do this without making a mess of the building and melting plastic ?   Ideas for covering seams ?

Glad to hear it's MDF.  Thanks, easier to cut than plastic.    From the photo's it looks like the rear of the building is flat so I could slide it against the table saw rip fence to make the rear side cuts.  Like wise, I could cut the rear of the back section off using the table saw/rip fence.  A jig or two may be needed to square everything up.  Could cut the back opening to fit on the table saw also.

Anyone know about the wiring ?  What makes the roof fans go around ?  There are 25 LEDs.  I wonder how they wired: voltage, series/parallel arrangement ?  There is 4.5 VDC in.  Is there a circuit board ?  Are there wires connecting the LEDs or some type of printed wiring ?  Where/how are the LEDs mounted ?
