many of you heard about this display being up in lehighton over 20 years ago, finally had a chance to go over and see it. I meet PRRhorseshoecurve there today and took lots of pictures. The HO was never on display and was just in boxes when it was in lehighton. as you can see by the pictures, they made the 3 rail the bulk of the display. when it was in lehighton, it was 2 rail O scale that was biggest part of the display. If you get the chance to go see it, it is well worth the $7.00 admission. children 5-12 $5.00 and under 5 are free.

I liked the interesting use of Bachmann/Plasticville signal bridges being used as an economical cantenary holders.

There were a lot of unique uses of Ameritown products kitbashed into unique buildings.

IMHO Two things that I was not crazy about:

  1. the layout was all flat! no mountians/valleys on the O guage layout. Pure two dimentional that an intermediate hobbyists could build
  2. the total "show" was only a 1/2 hr long and then you got "das boot!" Unlike any other train display where one can linger all day or until closing, this display was only allowing the viewer 1/2 hr... then all the lights went out and you were ushered out. Shows are done at the bottom of every hr.

NOw We understand in the near future, a huge G scale layout is being built which could make it all worthwhile if the price stays the same and the viewing time can be extended. There is just too much to see and take in for just 1/2 hr!
