I was late taking care of train sets for a pair of young relatives when I called Sidetrack Hobbies this afternoon.  The sets I needed were in stock at a very good price including free shipping.  I ordered hoping that the package would be delivered by Friday.

This evening I got an email from the shipping company saying the package will be delivered tomorrow!  Thank you, Sidetrack Hobbies.  They must have had the package out the door within a few hours of my order.  That would be fast service at any time of the year, but at this season it is incredible!

Does anyone know if there will be a tinplate sale for Christmas?  I have my eye on a tinplate loco and passenger cars.  :-)

The package was delivered shortly after noon today - less than 24 hours after I placed the order.  This is the best.  When I placed the order, the phone was answered on the first ring by a lady who knew the product, the price and what to do.  Entire transaction wrapped up in a few minutes. (No being put on hold with repetitive messages about how much they value my time.)  Then I got an email saying delivery would be the next day and the package showed up before a day had passed.  And all this in the week before Christmas.  Way to go.
