Good luck ALAN wish you all the best !! Keep up the great work !! Gary Clare Highland Park & Eldorado R/R GLA# 12
Incredible people..incredible forum..i enjoy OGR's momentum
Wow-ee, dual hats for you now as both Publisher and Advertising Sales Manager for OGR. That's a tall order to fill but if anyone is capable of doing both in top-notch fashion, it's most certainly you! Congrats and best wishes for a very long OGR run, and remember to always set aside some "me" time for working on that superb layout you've "birthed"!!!
Congratulations from the Lehigh Valley High Railers!

Congratulations and best of luck in your new position. May your run be a long one!

Alan, I wish you all the best as you take the engineers seat on this fast-moving train. The job briefing has taken place, the original engineer has been relieved and the new engineer is now on duty.
I know that OGR's future is is good hands.
Time to head to beans, Rich!
Congratulations and best of luck Alan!!!
Alan, from all of us at The Penn American Railroad (well, Lynley and me), congratulations and have fun!
OGR doesn't raise the bar, they ARE the bar!
Alan, congratulations and best wishes on your new career. You'll be terrific!
Stuart
The very best of luck from an old 2 railer.
Dick
I believe Rich left OGR in very capable hands. good luck Alan.
John Pignatelli
Only the best of luck.
John
Best of luck Alan!
OGR continues to be in good hands!
Best of luck Alan. Was great meeting you at York, talking just a bit(as I was getting ready to roll out). I will never forget before actually popping on here before joining the forum, one of the most astonishing moments was seeing your video on youtube and the fantastic layout you have. I was blown away by what was going on. There are some great layouts on youtube, but I would say(just by seeing the engine view from yours), that there is so much more to see. I am going to have to check out to see how many other videos you have on there.
Can't wait for issue 297(as well as Rich's last 296).
Good luck Alan!!! I am confident that you will continue to keep OGR the leader of 3 rail publication industry. Looking forward to future collaborations with you and Allan.
Congrats and best wishes to you, Alan. Looking forward to the bright future your leadership will bring to the Forum and the magazine!
And thanks, Rich, for all you’ve done for the OGR community...and for the hobby!
Once again, Congratulations Alan! I loo forward to your first issue of OGR!
Congratulations Alan, just keep the wheel centered and the train will stay on the tracks.
I am very happy for your promotion and you truly deserve it as you have really worked hard for past few years as OGR's advertising manager. I know that OGR is thriving because of your hard work and you have been always driven and focused in achieving your goals. Again, congratulations Alan!
Ricky
Congrats Alan!! And Im sure I dont have to, But we are all wishing you the Best of Luck!!
Cant wait for a great future ahead!!!
CHEERS!
You've heard the old saying, ..."best possible situation"... well, this is a perfect example. When I was first aware of the changes coming, my one biggest concern is the best possible outcome for the magazine. The addition of Alan as Publisher guarantees that O Gauge Railroading will be guided by someone who has O gauge trains in his blood!
Congratulations Alan! We welcome you with open arms!
Now, for your big test:.... "LASH-UP, .... LASH-UP, .... LASH-UP"
(....did he pass out yet?...)

Jim,
Yes I was worried too! But as you said, it is the best possible situation! I am very glad Alan agreed to take over as publisher!!
I wish Alan and all the staff well! Thank you everyone, and especially Rich for his legacy!!

I am waiting for Rich to pop on and tell us that Jim will be working on a 50 part series on the complete construction of Hoover Dam and the railroad that helped construct it(see link).
I'm late to the party here, but have been trying to get Run 297 (Feb. issue) organized and into the hands of our design team (not to mention dealing with contractors as I try to get my house ready before the snows fly).
Congrats, of course, to Alan way out there in Arkansas! I'm confident that we will accomplish increasingly better things as OGR moves forward into a new era. Should be fun! And it's always nice to be earning a living while doing your hobby.
Not to worry, Jim could do it in 40 segments, with room left over for letters!

Way to go, Alan. Hope you can come to York in the spring. Maybe Rich can fly you into PA.
Congratulations Alan. The position is well deserved and you will do a fine job. Keep up the good work!!
No question you will be a fantastic publisher. Hat's off to every who came before you and helped make OGR what it is today. We are all very lucky to have you taking the helm going forward.
PS When you get a chance can you get one of your personal staffers to take some pictures of the inside of the OGR corporate jet ? We all know it exists so why not let us see it !
Best of luck and happiness in your new role.

That would be a fitting project after he is done with that wonderful canyon and trestles!! :-)

I'm sure Jim would have it done in 4 issues. The hard part would probably be which amazing pictures to use of him at work.

What was really cool is I had no idea that there was a railroad museum there. I knew that railroads, and a whole other host of things were used to get stuff the to build it, but I dropped my jaw when I saw the tube with the steam engine in it.
Congratulations Alan A profound human being for sure you are!!
Love what you do
Do what you love
Best wishes
Alan, Best of Luck, sorry we did not get a chance to cross paths at York .
Rich, Thanks for all you do, always a pleasure to chat and appreciate the support you provided for the TMB club
Steve
Good luck taking the helm of an excellent O gauge publication. This is still a big hobby, its always evolving and it seems like there is always more to do. All things must change and it is hoped that Rich Melvin will enjoy his semi-retirement and that you will enjoy your new position at OGR. Always said that OGR was the best publication out there!
Congratulations Alan from here in Tennessee, and thank you for all your kind help in getting my mid americal 3 railers insignia set up in my forum responses. You will be a great publisher and will be a really great asset to the magazine, the video, and The Hobby. I wish you and your family and friends the very best. I hope to see you at York in April or October of 2018.
Alan, you have my condolences, working with that crew.
